Been going to Everett Clinic (now Optum) for 20 years. Went in, as do annually, to meet with Dr. and review prescriptions. I take for some high blood pressure. Was there for 15 minutes, discussed blood pressure, upped dosage, and left. I have insurance, but it doesn't cover Optum, so I choose to self pay rather than change providers. I was billed nearly $1,000. $180 for the lab, which is fine, but billed for two medical visits. TWO! One was preventative and another for the discussion about blood pressure. Been going to her since she practiced at snohomish. We needed a doctor to listen but she doesn't. Very headstrong and argumentative. Always acts like she isn't familiar with our health concerns which haven't changed.
I was on my way to Evergreen Monroe with a bleeding thumb when we passed Optum walk-in. I thought “hey, this isn’t actually an emergency!” And called the clinic. They picked up and told me they do stitches. I was admitted within 5 minutes of arrival and out within 45. The MAs and Doctor were extremely kind and patient with me being a bit of a baby with the 3 stitches I received. I hope I don’t go there again for a while but I am so glad Optum is here!
