Imagine moving away, and they keep charging you $49, after you did a 30 day written request two months ago, visited their store, called and spent hours talking to them. Listen guys, go outside and workout. This gym is not secure for having your banking info. It’s unethical conduct the way they loopholed their cancelation process, and by the way after months of trying to cancel, I still can’t cancel my membership. I don’t even live there anymore. I signed up again after 7 years and I really thought that after so many years it was going to be renewed or with new machines but everything is still the same I have seen other reviews that it is renewed and blah blah but pure lies and another is always full I tried to go at 5 am I was arriving 4:50 and what was my surprise when I entered it was all super full there were no machines I could not do my exercises that corresponded to my membership Edge strong said I could use the private area and when I asked a receptionist he ... read more
This is a matter of principle. What a greedy business practice by Edge Fitness. Unsure why in their response they went ahead & charged me the $53 annual maintenance fee though I would no longer be a member. Accordingly, as my membership was about to expire & I notified the Edge a few days into the last month that I would not be extending my membership. It pains me to leave a bad review. The sauna is my #1 consideration in a gym. The Greenwich location runs 40°-50° colder than their Norwalk and Fairfield locations. That is a big deal. I have emailed Greenwich twice and received no response. I emailed corporate and they responded saying they will "pass it along" and that the location says it is a different manufacturer and is not able to go as high. This is inaccurate. They told me I had to keep paying monthly dues because otherwise I would lose my prepaid Training package. This turned out to not be true so I paid for months that I didn't need to. Additionally, they kept scheduling me and then canceling my training sessions -- and they even scheduled me with trainers who didn't work there anymore, and then they told me I'd used up my training sessions.
