Today was my first time at The Downtown Spa. It was easily THE best experience I have ever had getting my hair done. More often than not, getting my hair done is an experience I dread and put off for as long as I can. I have very bad social anxiety/body image issues and find sitting in the chair having to look at myself for the duration of the cut, dry and style entirely reason enough to avoid it altogether. My daughter went in to get her hair cut into layers and the stylist did a great job and took the time to explain to her how to style her layers!
the brazilian wax was really sloppily done and painful. had to stop halfway, with a bunch of hairs left unwaxed in areas where it had just been waxed. had to pay full price even though half of it was done poorly. it was my choice to stop it due to the pain but the condition that the areas that had just been waxed were left uncleaned/untweezed. only a couple hairs were tweezed and she called it a day. it was a very hurrying vibe for the price. the room was really messy and poorly cleaned. the assistant who stood to the side w... read more
