I highly recommend the Dorothy Motel. With a second floor room we had high ceilings, a balcony and a view. The free bus pass made traveling easy but it is walkable from the town centre. They provided a nice selection of coffee and tea. The hot pools across the street at the Canoe exceeded expectations and shouldn’t be missed. The Rocky Mountain Soap products were a plus. The air conditioner was noisy but I turned it off. I would definitely stay here again.

We had a nice time in Banff and stayed at the Dorothy. We had a few issues: 1. The bathroom sink stopped draining. Maintenance was sent quickly, but they left water splashes on the counter/mirror, and he smelled like cigarette smoke. 2. Drink slip (coffee/tea): We checked off what we wanted and didn’t get what we asked for, specifically the hot cocoa for my kid. 3. Coffee service/cups: Housekeeping didn’t wash the coffee percolator thing nor did they wash the coffee cups. We stayed for more than a night, and had to get dish ... read more

A nicely appointed and renovated hotel/motel on the Banff Ave. strip, which provides free access to the Canoe's 5th floor hot pool and hot tub, both of which are phenomenal. Note that check-in is also only at Canoe. Housekeeping is apparently from there as well, and hence is less responsive and attentive from my experience, both of which are pretty big negatives. Hopefully management will find a solution to this major drawback. The motel is also fairly from the shops and restaurants on Banff Ave., which also isn't ideal.

Stayed for 3 nights and four days...we checked in their sister hotel at the Hotel Canoe just 5 minutes walk across the street...very walkable to Banff town...clean room...we had what we need in a room mini fridge, microwave...they'd gave us roam bus card (free ride for Banff local bus transit)
