I lived at Kandela for three weeks for my mental health recovery. My time there was well spent. The team that works with you really care about your over all well being. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone battling mental health and sobriety issues.
It wasn't a bad place. An issue there with my food allergy. I had documentation on my phone of the stipulatios I needed to come there. When those stipulations weren't met, they refused to get my phone to confirm. They messed up my flight. Get emails of documentation and print them out before you go. Your words will fall on Def ears with management. Terry the tech was the best. He took care of me. Look to him for help/assistance.
Scam! I was scammed by patient brokers. They contacted my emergency contact (my dying mom) and hustled her out of money who had no idea I was even there and for what. Then a lead tech broke hippa laws and told her over my phone call I was detoxing and throwing up in bed. They made my mother believe I'd be on the streets and stuck in florida so they offered a small payment plan and then double charged her. It's an insurance scam. Shitty place, never communicated with my psychiatrist or therapist back at home, my therapist never saw me except for once, the psychiatrist is irresponsible prescribing things my psychiatrist back at home said were making me worse, and the supervision is awful and doesn't prevent things it's supposed to. Lots of people bullying other people as well there.
I called them to inquire about their in-patient program and reiterated that my husband and I are simply gathering information about each facility to make an informed decision. I get a call back from one of the representatives the next day, and explained that I will be seeking local treatment before jumping to a service that's 13 hours away from us.
