Food was very good. A little pricy but good. Service was good not great.
We walked in with our children and sat at a table, then when my children expressed they wanted to try somewhere different and we got up to leave an employee made the comment in a snarky way to another employee “well maybe they should have checked the menu before they came in” to which the other employee laughed at. There are better places to eat in Bluffton, don’t waste your time or money at The Cottage.
We started our visit with a lovely table on the front porch, and from there the experience only got better. Kim took such great care of us, offering kind service and thoughtful suggestions that made our meal even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely outstanding! I ordered the power salad with salmon, shrimp, and a crab cake—it was, without question, the best salad I’ve ever had in my life. Just ok. I've been here for breakfast before and really liked the crab omelette. Here for lunch today, I got the shrimp and grits. I was not impressed. The shrimp was not seasoned at all and therefore very bland, while the grits were very salty. Rather than a garnish, there were so many scallions on the top that I had to pick most off. A plethora of chopped onions overwhelmed the dish. The server was average, I'd say. Run, don't just walk away. Horrible waitress service. She was nasty , rude, disgusting. She didn't want to be there and she let everyone know. 8 of us there for a birthday and since we are new to Margaritaville we are exploring different places to eat. Never ever go there. Food was average. The hamburger that was asked for well done was raw. No I'm sorry can I fix it. Just wished away. Spoke to the manager or owner . Not sympathetic. Just oh I'm sorry. These locals better wake up.
