The room was beautiful, staff friendly and location great. My dog liked it too! The breakfast was TERRIBLE with rock hard bagels, stale pastries with no way to heat them up, individual sugared cereals (Apple Jacks, Frosted flakes). The jam/jellies had congealed. Given this is a Bed and Breakfast, I would have expected much better. Even fresh pastries would have helped. I would have been glad to stay again if the breakfast had been acceptable.
Terror in the Night Not only will my wife and I not be staying at The Constance again, we will never stay at any inn anywhere. Our terrifying experience has opened our minds. We think now, “who are these strange guests and service people I’m suddenly sleeping in a strange house with?” Our first night, we awoke around 2:15am to the sounds of someone pacing outside our bedroom. PACING and NOISES outside my room at NiGHT … I booked my first stay with the Constance and it was my worst experience ever staying away from home . There was a very scary experience that occurred for me there at night feeling unsafe ,stuck and paralyzed in the bed because of noises and constant pacing outside my door… went on for a very long time .. and the worst part was that it was not handled well by the staff . As others have stated: the best part of the Dewey property is the location which is within walking distance of downtown Lenox. The room, while large and fairly well appointed, was tired appearing and dusty. It lacked the charm of other rooms appearing in photos in the Lenox Collection. It really, really badly requires an updating!! The overall value for the price was very disappointing. Make sure you know which room in which property you are getting when selecting a room at a Lenox Collection property!!
