Edit: Emailed the owner with other establishments that don’t have this practice and he had a terrible customer service response and bashed the prices of other local bars. Certainly will not be back now. If you buy a bottle of wine, go ahead and add $10 to the price. I was charged a “corkage fee” for a bottle I purchased and drank on premise. Then they charged an automatic tip on top of that. Typically, a fee like this is for bottles brought in from the outside. If you buy a bottle of wine, go ahead and add $10 to the price. I was charged a “corkage fee” for a bottle I purchased and drank on premise. Then they charged an automatic tip on top of that. Typically, a fee like this is for bottles brought in from the outside. The staff was unrelenting in this bogus charge and made excuses that it was to cover the cost of wine keys (at a wine bar).
