Don't use Google maps to get you there. It had us turn into Stephen's St and we needed to go south by another block. It was neat to see the pole. I had no idea it existed until I read about it in my Washington curiosities book.
The pole is amazing, although I don’t understand the obsession with a high school football game that occurred in 1938.
Fun little landmark with some nest history behind it. Well worth a stop to look at the pole up close and read the sign. There is parking right next to the pole but it's in the lot for a local insurance company, and they don't seem to like people parking there to see the pole.
