We had a wonderful experience at The Claypen! The atmosphere was welcoming, relaxing, and perfect for families. The staff was friendly, patient, and very helpful throughout the entire process. There were plenty of pottery options to choose from, and the painting experience was fun for both kids and adults. Everything was well organized, and we never felt rushed. I had a great experience at the Clay Pen overall, but I was very upset to see that there were splotches of blue on my pottery when I picked it up from the store. The color blue wasn’t on my palette at all, and I did not paint any blue on my piece. I’m disappointed considering the amount of money and time I invested, only for my pottery to have marks that I did not add myself. Honestly a really nice experience! Went as a walk-in and had plenty of time to finish our pieces (not feeling rushed is always a plus). I’m a very practical person so I was initially worried that I would be stuck painting a decorative piece, but their items are food safe and so I went with a cereal bowl! The staff is very attentive, but I enjoy the freedom of going up and picking out brushes and choosing/filling up my color palette (after the staff bring your initial palette out). Would definitely go again!
