Classic English pub great beers great food
Could actually be a nice pub - but they insist on absolutely BLASTING music at full volume, defeating the purpose of a pub (i.e., chance to have a conversation with someone). Turn down the music (and pick better songs) and it would be a great place.
The best thing about this place is the krombacher, the food is dreadful, the chips were hardly cooked and everything else was plain. Wouldn't say it's that much of an English pub at all, the Irish ones have a bit more about them, and I'm English saying that. 🤦♂️
We had a fantastic experience at The Churchill Tavern. Our server, Jason, was friendly, attentive, and helpful. We ordered the sausage roll, fish and chips, bangers and mash, and the beef, mushroom, and Guinness pot pie, and everything was delicious. Everything tasted homemade, down to the tartar sauce. The mushy peas were incredibly fresh, the fish was thick and flaky, the bangers had the perfect texture and taste, and the pot pie was rich, hearty, and packed with flavor.
