I went to the emergency room because I had a pill lodged in my throat. Although I was able to breathe, drink, and eat, I could clearly feel that the pill was stuck and was experiencing irritation that extended into my ear. Before discussing my concerns, I want to acknowledge that everyone else I encountered—from registration and triage to the nurses—was amazing. The Christ Hospital billing department seems fraudulent. I fought cancer last year so I have had many many bills. I prepaid bills on two different occasions and then was sent another bill after I prepaid. It took me several times on the phone to get corrected. I also was given estimates before each procedure showing what it would cost, what my coinsurance was and offered a 10% discount if I prepaid.....which I did.
