Was recently discharged from GBMC’s stroke unit and had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Tsao during my stay. He is the ONLY doctor during my stay that physically came into the room to talk to me and figure out what was going on. He sat in my room listening to my symptoms and the story that lead me to getting admitted. He spent at least 30 mins in the room assessing and talking to me and within minutes he had provided me with more info about my stay than any other PA or attending had the whole time I was there. I’m extremely disappointed with the way I was treated by Dr. Mwaisela’s office. I called because I urgently needed a refill for my seizure medication, which was previously prescribed by Dr. Mwaisela. I spoke with Raven D. Howard, who documented the interaction as if I was being ‘abrupt,’ when in reality I was concerned and frustrated because missing this medication has seriously affected my health in the past. Trying to get an urgent prescription filled. I have been taking the same medication for 30 years and for some reason they sent in the wrong version to the pharmacy. I am trying to get ahold of the office to have them expedite this refill because I have already missed two doses. The current wait time on the phone is 44 minutes to speak to someone. Regularly have issues with one particular staff member who is always rude and makes me jump through hoops to provide information multiple times. If I get upset when she acts rude and dismissive, she'll either put me on an indefinite hold or hang up on me. When she responds to the emails, she'll claim delays are due to me not providing information when the information was in the previous email in the same email chain. I was very impressed with Dr. Tsao. He was friendly, thorough, and made an otherwise unpleasant test (EMG) very comfortable. I’ll echo comments that his bedside manner is best-in-class. Would certainly recommend him for young adults (and children).
