We rented a tow behind lift through a third party platform. The equipment worked fine; the controls were a bit worn/slow but otherwise fine. We ended up damaging a safety latch. They charged us $800 to replace it (more than the rental cost). We received an itemized invoice with the cost broken down. Since we caused the damage and they own the equipment, I can't really complain, but $300 for labour from a certified tech to replace a latch held on by a handful of bolts does seem excessive.
