I am so grateful to the Cat Company. My cat could not take the oral or transdermal methimazole. It made him throw up all the time. I made the call to the Cat Company and they explained everything in detail. I must note that you NEED to follow their directions about when to take your cat off the thyroid medication before the procedure. They need to know your cats T4 level without the help of the medication so they can taylor the dosage of the iodine treatment to your cats levels. I couldn't be happier with my Cat Company experience: getting my 12 y/o kitty her radioactive iodine cure for hyperthyroidism. The Cat Company is nearly 50% cheaper than other options I had researched, which is amazing enough, but it was also paired with high-standard care and customer service inside what looked to be a state-of-the-art animal hospital. The price you pay to save an old once stray cat haha, he was dying slowly in front of me all the meds didn't seem to keep him from the excessive vomiting that hyperthyroidism brought to my cat. It's a little over a month since treatment he ended up going hypothyroidism but the vomiting for over a year has ended and he's gaining weight already. I get to cuddle my boy and the price for his life was definitely worth it.
