History Established in 1992. In 1992, a small offering of Australian Aboriginal goods were sold in 100 square feet on East Davis Street in downtown Culpeper, Virginia under the name "Kungaku Arts", the aboriginal Pitjantjatjara word for "women's". Since then the product selection has grown to represent over 80 countries, has moved and expanded eight times on the same block, and is now home at The Cameleer at 125 East Davis Street. I ALWAYS find a cute gift or something for myself here!
So similar to our ten thousand villages back home! So I will always return! Very nice selection of unique products.
Love it that there are lots of different things to look at. There is a great women's section, quite a few very nice clothing items for men, a small baby section ( there used to be more and I did miss that since we have several baby grandchildren). The variety of unusual items makes it a great "go to" . Hors d' vours were scrumptious and the wine was flowing. Good experience!
Our family have shopped here since their opening across the street. All the people here have always been more than helpful and pleasant from the owner on down to the floor sweeper.
Business response:
Thank you Pam! We have always loved you as a customer, and as we all sweep the floor we appreciate your kind words.
I have been shopping at The Cameleer for 18 years. This is always one of my favorite stores. I can always find that special unique gift for my family and friends, not to mention many things for myself. The owner and staff are exceptional - always friendly and very helpful. I recommend this store to everyone I know - near and far.
Today I visited the Cameleer and spoke to a woman that I believe to be the manager/owner and was appalled at how RUDE she was. She was disrespectful and treated me as if I was not worth a second of her time. I would be ashamed of myself for speaking to someone as she did today. I watched 2 customers exit the building after overhearing her speak to me. My family has purchased gifts from the shop for many years and they will never see another dime from us or anyone I speak too.
Business response:
Hi Kelly, we are so sorry you had a bad experience at The Cameleer. Please contact us by Facebook, phone (540-825-8073), or email (info@thecameleer.com) and explain the situation to us so that we may address your concerns.
Have counted on The Cameleer for years, for Christmas and birthday shopping, and treated myself to some irresistible items. There is always something new from somewhere in the wide world. The selection of unique and artistic jewelry boggles the mind! Every price range accommodated.
The Cameleer has a 4.5 star rating with 104 reviews.
The Cameleer is closed now. It will open at 9:00 a.m.
