This is a boutique hotel with few rooms and limited amenities. It provides a wonderful experience in a unique setting. The historic building adds an element of adventure to the stay that is a welcome change to overly pampering cookie cutter chain hotels.
If your looking for the Ritz, this isn't it. If your looking for character and a comfortable room. Yes it is. The bar is a unique little place and the owner is fantastic. We would definitely stay again. :)
Very much enjoyed my stay at the Burlington Hotel. I arrived early and called the host who walked me through the hotel on the phone. This place made my hotel dreams come true: historic, clean, well-run... everything the traveler who wants to explore far away from the freeway is looking for in a hotel. I wish I was staying for more than one night. Thanks for everything.
This hotel has very reasonable rates, so adjusting expectations accordingly is a reasonable approach when reserving. I wasn't expecting more than I got, and was neither disappointed nor pleasantly surprised. In my experience, buildings where cats live usually have a certain smell. This hotel is no exception. A true delight. Jennifer has created a slice of magic in Alma by the Mississippi. Highly recommended stay if you’re looking for somewhere truly inspired, historic, charming, and/or cat-friendly. Drinking a Wisconsin Old Fashioned alone at the bar makes the trip worth it in itself.
