Wow, where to start. When I first came to the program I was skeptical, like most, in thinking that I even had a problem or that my problem stemmed so deep into my childhood that I didn’t care to look at it anymore. Quickly through the programs open mindset and welcoming arms, and through the teachings of Ron and David, I realized that there were a lot of things I was overlooking for fear of dealing with them. I am Navy and I was referred to this place by my command. When I had voluntarily taken myself to AA meetings it was just to look good so that my command could think I cared about getting better but on the way home I would head to the liquor store, grab me a bottle and crack it open soon as I set it on the kitchen counter. Chose I.O.P over residential care because at the time my mental state wouldn't benefit from that type of environment. Working with Dave, Korine and David during the initial assessment eroded all anxiety and skepticism I had, I instantly felt comfortable and open to the process because of how professional and real they were with me.
