I had eaten here before and really enjoyed the tasting menu but the smoke house Monday was very disappointing. 1 course and very small plus an none alcoholic drink was over �60 and left hungry.
My friend and I had a lovely lunch today. The food and service was excellent. However we were amused but slightly annoyed to find that we had been charged �2.50 for a second small jug of jus. We ordered extra because there was not enough for the two of us for our roast pork. Having eaten at top restaurants here and abroad we have never encountered this sort of extra charge anywhere.
This was back in July and i wrote a tripadvisor review at the time with no reply. Here is what i had to say about The Brewers Rattlesden. Went in the morning for the cafe, was the first to sit down and the first to leave as there was very poor service. Ordered first and waited patiently, for simple machine coffees to take 15 minutes and then food never arrived, they decided to serve someone else who sat down 30 minutes after me. 45 minute wait for breakfast and counting (never arrived) So just walked out. Probably the best Sunday lunch I have ever had along with excellent service. Highly recommended.
I don't often leave reviews but felt compelled to compliment The Brewers for a fantastic Sunday lunch. The heritage sirloin roast was beautifully cooked, rare and tender. The starters and dessert equally good. Great service and good beers and wines. Cannot fault.
