I called the (presumed?) owner on Friday afternoon, August 6, 2021 to fulfill my leasing obligation to the apartment complex to have the small apartment’s carpet cleaned prior to my move-out on the following Monday. After a frustrating experience of intelligibility and finally being able to comprehend the employee—her speech was not intelligible to me in either English or Spanish, and I am fluent in both—I was relieved to be able to schedule the appointment for the following morning at 10 A.M.
