As world travelers, we've savored meals from Paris to Dubai, but The Black Pearl in Dunedin blew us away! The grouper was flawless—fresh, perfectly seared, and bursting with flavor. My wife's duckling was pure heaven, tender and unforgettable. The wine list is a curated masterpiece, and the service? Warm, attentive, like family. This intimate gem is a must for anyone chasing extraordinary dining. We'll be back!
Food quality was mixed. Excellent starter (beef tartare), salad (Black Pearl) and dessert (bananas foster). Appetizer (lobster risotto) was too cheesy which overpowered the lobster. Main course (grouper) was cooked well, but I didn't care for the sauce which didn't seem to go with the dish. Also, I don't recommend the butter, which is an upcharge, for the bread. Went for our anniversary, hands-down, the most unique and special dining experience of my life, I wish I could do it every month. We had an incredible sommelier who introduced me to my new favorite wine, I’ll be making reservations next year for our next anniversary
