what happened? – I visited Martha's Vineyard in 1985 and stumbled upon the Black Dog Tavern for some great food and fun ambience. I returned ten years later and found the place was just as good only crazy busy. Last year I couldn't wait to go back. What a disappointment! The food was terrible! Even the bakery which used to put out scratch products was selling frozen pastries (if you could find them amidst all the Black Dog trinkets). What happened?

Every Year – Every year we come to MV. Our traditional restaurant is the Black Dog. It is a wonderful place, the food is great (especially breakfast), and the LOCATION IS UNBELIEVABLE!!
