A very positive birthing experience here. The staff went above and beyond to provide me and my baby a very high level of care with extreme kindness, they were so knowledgeable, I felt like I was getting a very modern and practical approach to birthing and caring for my baby. Edit: the chair for the partner in the mother/baby care unit was awful. Was very narrow and didn't feel like it went very flat. This review is a little delayed as our baby girl is 3 weeks old but still wanted to take a moment and express our gratitude for the staff at Duke Regional labor and delivery unit. We arrived at Duke for induction and were given a warm welcome by the many women sitting at the front of L&D. Our initial day nurses were Sarah Ann and Emma Konrad. Every single nurse, doctor, and staff member was friendly and caring. Just had my baby via c section and had the most relaxing stress free experience at this hospital!
I see all these bad reviews & I honestly think it all depends on your team of nurses & doctors. I had my baby on 12/20 & had such a great group of nurses & grateful for my doctor’s office & the doctor that delivered my baby. Despite my birth plan not being 100% what I planned, they made my experience as positive as possible & made sure I was as comfortable as I could be throughout the entire process.
I want to start off by saying, if you are locally near DUKE REGIONAL HOSPITAL and you are pregnant, I highly advice you come here! It is the most amazing environment to have your little one in. My girlfriend and I are new parents with an almost 2 week old baby. We decided to go to Duke Regional for labor and delivery. We will continue to go to Duke for every child we have.
