As a first time mom, I can not recommend The Birth Center to anyone which is really disappointing because some of my friends have had a great experience. From the moment I called when I found out I was pregnant, they were not excited at all and were beating around the bush that I should be on edge because I just found out. 2023 I went to the birth center to have a natural water birth. I was in labor for over 30 hours. My body was not dilating fast enough and towards the end I felt my body shutting down. Like it was urging me to go to the hospital. So at 9 cm and an hour of my midwife not helping or paying attention to me I went down the street to the hospital. I loved coming here for my well woman care after experiencing neonatal loss. When I called recently to schedule a prenatal appointment, I was told I needed to apply for OB care and then declined because of my history with my firstborn. I understand if they can’t take patients for certain reasons, but considering two different doctors were aware of my history and I expressed interest in becoming pregnant again, I wish that was disclosed to me beforehand. Please! Be very mindful of this place! (especially if your a POC) The staff here downplay patient symptoms and almost caused my sister to give birth in the parking lot. After repeated attempts ringing the doorbell and calling etc. They FINALLY opened the door 20 minutes AFTER the discussed time. They then proceeded to brush her off so much that when she gave birth they barely had the water running.
