Great location..great for biking and hiking
Disappointing It was my first time staying at the Berkeley hotel and despite its four stars and great reviews, I was disappointed. The staff were very kind and check-in went well. At first glance my room looked kept and tidy. When I inspected the bedroom and bathroom more closely, I noticed issues. The rooms felt grimy and dusty. The carpet needed more vacuuming, I could feel dirt and debris through my socks. Yuck! A small lounge chair needed proper vacuuming as I could see food crumbs on the seating and in the cracks. Horrible customer service
This hotel is listed on Google as a 4 star hotel, and their website says that guests can expect to "sleep in luxury and comfort." When I got to my room, I found that most of the bed pillows were incredibly lumpy and uncomfortable. When I called the front desk to ask for some new pillows, I was told that "the pillows are assigned to the rooms" and that there "was nothing they could do." I am generally not picky and don't expect to be waited on hand and foot, but I don't understand how you can hold yourself out as a 4 star hot... read more
