Everything about the Bark Eater ~ the gorgeous house, its delightful living and private spaces, the cornucopia of flowers in the garden, and if that wasn’t enough, so warmly and generously hosted by the always smiling Meghan and Tyler, made it the perfect venue indeed for our learning retreat. The gardens are amazing! The land seems to sing with love and bees and hummingbirds. I stayed in the pine room in the forest suite. The bed was so comfortable I felt like a princess. My stay was so restorative and just what I need. I am grateful for my experience at the Bark Eater Inn.
This was a great place! We stayed in their one family cabin, so although you don’t get the breakfast that comes with staying in the inn itself, it was fantastic! Meghan is the owner and she’s very good with communication. Their property is huge with great views of Big Slide Mountain and a beautiful meadow. It’s also very convenient to hiking at Adirondack Loj and other local trails. Be aware that if you book via hotels.com it doesn’t say no breakfast included when you book the cabin. Four of us stayed at the Sentinel Cabin, one of the Barkeater properties, for 3 nights this past week, and it was terrific! The cabin is in great shape, very nice, comfortable and quiet, set on a beautiful property. Looking forward to staying there again in the near future!
The Bark Eater Inn is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature. Their enclosed patio room is a relaxing place to start your day with their delish home cooked breakfast. They are also a convenient central point to all the great activities that Lake Placid and the surrounding areas offer. Thank you for an amazing week!
