Fun little beach restaurant. There's usually a wait. But you can hang out on the beach and take sunset family pictures while you wait. The food is great and so was the atmosphere. You can also hit up their bar while you lounge on the beach!
GREAT LUNCH We are snowbirds arriving at Destin on Jan. 1st. Had fried shrimp basket for lunch today.All I can say DELICIOUS! The shrimp was cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend this restaurant for seafood.
I got the lobster stuffed mahi mahi. It was excellent! My wife got the platter and had enough to bring home for lunch! Food quality and view were excellent
The fried seafood platter was great! The gumbo is really good! And the view is AWESOME!!!!! It's a great place to eat with friendly staff. This was recommended to us by a local and she was right.....wonderful food!!!
can't beat the view When we vacationed in Destin every afternoon we would walk down the beach to the Backporch. We had the biggest freshest oysters we have ever seen while watching the waves roll in.
Must have shirts! If you go to Back Porch, you must check out the gift shop. The top selling item I am sure are the many unique designs of Back Porch T-shirts. They have lots of other items in the shop too - seashell jewelry and beach frames knick knacks that are just too cute. I do a lot of shopping for relatives who wish they could live at the beach like I do!
Excellent Seafood Great view of the Gulf of Mexico along with a great meal. What more can you ask for? Definitely a local favorite that does not hurt your pocketbook. Cooking is done in variety of way such as steam, baked, or fried. Food is delicious and service is good.

Best food in town The Back Porch Cafe is one of a kind. Everything is handmade and original. Great value for the portions of a hungry eater. Outdoor seating refreshing from the norm in Old Town. For the 15 years I've been stopping in for everything from a relaxing glass of wine and crab cakes, to a Thanksgiving pie, I've never been disappointed with a breakfast or lunch.
