Extremely disappointing and concerning experience with Autobarn Volkswagen of Countryside - ZERO stars. We purchased a used 2021 VW Tiguan that was represented as fully inspected, mechanically sound, VW Certified, and backed by a clean CARFAX report. We relied on the dealership’s claims that the vehicle had undergone a “100+ point inspection” and trusted that the car was safe and free from major defects. The vehicle was under 28,000 miles. I’ve been coming to VW Countryside for a while now…mainly for maintenance. They’ve always taken good care of my vehicles (2 GTIs) and are really fairly priced. I think the only bad thing, if it’s bad LoL…is that scheduling your vehicle in has been a hassle lately. To get an appointment I was told like two weeks out…so they advised to just get there really early one day, so that’s what I did. I was in and out in like an hour and a half which was awesome. Couldn’t perform a standard firmware update under warranty last year, was told they would let me know when to come back for the update, never did. I came back (one year later, busy with life), was told warranty expired and they couldn’t honor the update without charging $190. Advisor was rude, told the manager (Steve) about my bad experience and he himself was rude and told me they could only honor if I paid for some other services that I originally wanted to get done (spark plugs and trans flush).
