Stopped in port for a few hours with the HAL Westerdam and decided to check this place out. Have to be honest, in 36+ years in the Air Force I've traveled the world and perused many bars- to include Anchorage. I felt VERY comfortable in this place, Carlos is the bomb! Great selection of bar T-Shirts as well- added one to my collection.
We had a great time time at the Asylum today. Part of pub crawl. Far and away best pub. Owner joined us for games and stories. Great Ducks Farts! Even the clientele were friendly. Make it a stop on your next trip!
Draft beers are $3.50 each. Carlos treated us like locals, joking around with us from the start with some humor similar to my own. We were laughing so hard. You could tell he was loved by guests as they were buying him shots & he ended up with a buffalo bills hat from a guest who was in there. The other bartenders were also extremely knowledgeable about beers & recommendations. They too were very very friendly (sorry I didn’t catch their names)!! I hope to make it back to this bar if I ever end up in the area again!
This placed it’s a must!!! Carlos the owner made our visit a very fun time, he served us a Drink that was very good with a funny name DUCK FART…
