Just got back from a week snowboarding on Whistler/Blackcomb and we stayed at the Aspens - here are my thoughts: Great: The location, can't beat it - ski right of the Merlin run into the common area. It's just a few steps from the base of Blackcomb and 10 minutes from Whistler Village. Good: Hotel staff - they helped where they could, but due to the rooms all being owned separately, there was much they couldn't help with OK: - The rooms: they are pretty small especially if you have a week's worth of gear. The room and location were nice and as expected. Because we booked through a third party, the front desk staff were limited in what they could provide us. Friendly, but just didn't have any information on our room. Two concerns: First, the door code from the mountain to the hotel and the door code into the hot tub area do NOT work well. At one point there was at least 10 people waiting to enter from the mountain because no one could get the door code to work. Great location for skiing, ski-in/out, directly on the slope, a 5 min walk from the room to the nearest restaurants along the ski slope. Skis have to be left in the valet in the pool area which seems to be convenient but it is has its drawbacks because there can be a queue in the morning when everyone is heading out skiing and there is only one person serving the valet. Nice access to the slopes and gondola. Facility kept clean. Hot tubs and pools were nice. Ski valet is nice but can take some time to get your stuff. Since it’s the only way they want you to store your gear while you are here this process should be a little better/faster. Front desk was helpful during our stay. The key codes to access things were a little annoying and shuttle access is a little walk.
This review is specifically for Room 437 that we stayed in from March 1 - March 6 2026. One of the worse experiences we have had staying in Whistler almost every year since 2003. The location is great. Ski-in/Ski-out. The facility itself has a decent pool and two out-door hot tubs kept in good condition and excellent temperatures. The room (437), owner managed, was awful.
