Animals don't have so many options for night and weekend care and I'm sure great work gets done at AMC too, so I've hesitated to write this review for some time. But I think if they are not accountable for situations like the one that happened to me, the animals will suffer for it as well. I went to the emergency room with a dog who was clearly having an airway issue - reverse sneezing, coughing when he tried to smell, could not bark, in distress. I showed them videos of his symptoms because he was masking his symptoms due... read more

this place is absolutely horrific...the vets and technicians I encountered were heartless and cold...the atmosphere is the same...this is a business plain and simple with little to no compassion for the animals they tend to...stay away from this place at all costs!

Awful experience, took my dog there for her cancer. She had chemotherapy every two weeks. The vets treating her were constantly changing as it is a teaching hospital. The head vet, Dr. Liebman was abrupt and rude and the whole experience was so traumatic for my dog and myself. I ended up taking her to another vet out on Long Island for her treatment and it was much better all around. I also spent $28,000 at AMC, the prices are insane and they over test.

They are incompetent and charge too much. I first took my cat there because she chocked on food and after 600$ of visit and x-ray they did not have any information except trying to charge me more money for an ultrasound. But the worst was the second time I went there to euthanize my cat. They took her to another room to put a catheter on her and they brought her back to me she was already dead. They made excuses about how she was already sick but the truth is that any good doctor would have seen this and gave her an anesthes... read more

The doctors are nice, techs and the meet and greet as well. However, client service not so nice they are all about the $$$! This is suppose to be a non-profit organization that profit from the disabled, low income and no income! I visited them on April 8, 2022 because there are no avian vets in Brooklyn and endured a $324 debt to look at a bird and still didn't know if it was an egg or hernia or both. I had to return on Tuesday April 12,2022 to see avian doctor received another bill for $386. I explained my income situation... read more

We are writing to get on record our profound disappointment with the service and experience at AMC with the last 12 days our our beloved Pet's life. She had a brain tumor. To say we were unhappy with not only our treatment personally, by the majority of the staff, is a gross understatement. We, on our very last day, wrote desperately to Dr.D'Amico, and others, who encouraged this communication, to no avail, although it was clearly an emergency. We were never able to speak directly to anyone who knew anything about our Dog's ... read more

I had to take my cat to the AMC emergency department at 1am. The vets were good and highly professional. The support staff, particularly the front desk staff, were deplorable. The man who “helped” me made fun of my accent, patronized me, lectured me about talking with my hands (so much so that I held onto the front desk) and was perhaps one of the rudest most unkind and inconsiderate people I have had to deal with in a long time. Utterly deplorable indicidual. So much so that, as I was paying my bill and getting ready to lea... read more
