Have been an out patient at the Alfred a number of times. However my last visit was horrendous. I was in for a procedure I'd had three times before. Every time I'd been given a light sedative as it isn't pleasant. THIS time, no sedative. I suffer from anxiety and it hit the roof. The surgeon had a great deal of difficulty inserting the catheter for the angiogram. Tried arm a couple of times, then went for the neck. He had problems there as well. Long wait in emergency. my friend was feeling serious pain due to dog bite but they didn't care about this.
Arrived at ED as instructed by my husband’s Dermatologist who had referred him the day before for specialist care for a very nasty autoimmune skin reaction. Arrived at 10am, but husband still in ED at 10pm. He is eighty three. Lots of blood samples, skin biopsies and a chest X-ray. Had to ask for food and a drink other than food bought at the hospital cafe. We were referred there not voluntary emergency patients. Had we known this is the process, he would not have agreed. Racist place.i have very bad experience from orthopedic unit which I am waiting for an operation woman call Rebecca in coordination team purposely delaying my surgery due to my skin colour. Feedback team useless they don’t take anything serious I have wrote to heath minister and waiting for replay . If you are from some other country please avoid this hospital
