The people here are amazing, teaching us about the sky on their time, no fee to come here. My 2nd time visiting, the skies weren't complying but st least we got to see the strawberry moon with our eyes, not thru the lens. The mosquitoes where out for blood, literally, so we didn't stay long enough to see if the moon was visible thru the big telescopes. Bring your own chair &wait for the sky to put on a show.
I had no idea something of this caliber could be found in the Adirondacks!! Marc was incredibly knowledgeable and gave us a fascinating and detailed presentation of their facility and the night sky. Looking forward to visiting again
Awesome dark sky. Fantastic people!
The observatory is open infrequently. cloud cover and weather will dictate if it's worth while opening up. they have some great equipment there and knowledgeable volunteer astronomers. great for kids of all ages. no tickets required, no charge for admission
We had visitors from out of town so we thought we would enjoy the night sky. Everyone had a great time and really loved the experience.
