The Abbey has become one of my favorite stores. The staff is amazing and they are always willing to order items they may not have in stock or even carry.
The owner Yvonne and her twin daughters are absolutely delightful. What a fabulous store; so faith inspiring! I felt at home when I walked through the door. Have never been to a Christian store of this magnitude. I am thrilled I was able to find the items I was seeking and will definitely visit again when in Maine. A gem among the Scarborough area. God bless these ladies for the work they do. 🙏🙏🙏
It seems that a Catholic store in Maine is rather rare. This location seems not to rely on its uniqueness, but with a mission of Gospel-driven ideas. The staff is well beyond courteous. I found myself welcomed, but not smothered. The selection of Catholic-focussed items ranges from cards, to cds, to statues, scapulars, jewelry, sacramental items and lots of books. The owners are wonderful, very helpful and knowledgeable. They are truly good witnesses to the faith. There is something for everyone at the Abbey Bookstore! Wonderful things are happening there! There is an open house at the Abbey on December 1. Come one come all! You will not leave disappointed, and you might even get some Christmas shopping done!
