Had an absolutely cracking day with Steve at 1910 ironworks. He is a very patient teacher with a wealth of knowledge, he teaches a lot of technique in a short time and you get to walk away with a piece of work and skill set that will last a life time. Just getting to chat to Steve is a amazing experience.
Just had the pleasure of a private lesson with Steve at his home forge and the experience was fantastic. His knowledge and passion for all things metal using traditional techniques was amazing. Do yourself a favour and invest some time with Steve.
We had a recommendation from my pottery teacher who has an Aga that was restored by Steve… so we reached out to him with photos of our Metters Canberra oven and Metter No4 stove….. the stoves were in pretty bad shape with some very inventive “repairs” over the years…. Steve was not deterred and we duly loaded them up on a wet day to take them to him at Wildes Meadow. Steve, Harry & Murray were very professional to deal with regarding my bespoke handrail - After a couple of meetings & design tweaks the end result speaks for itself. Very happy with the result & I can highly recommend 1910 Ironworks.
Steve Hogwood & the 1910 team have done a superb job on our Art Nouveau garden folly in Burradoo. Steve's intimate knowledge of Art Nouveau history & styling together with his fabulous pencil sketches allowed for a good interpretation of our brief and his blacksmith workshop have delivered a masterpiece of garden art to delight generations of family & friends of the Southern Highlands Stephen & Diana Holliday PS We would be delighted to show the folly anyone interested
