Expensive, but good – A bit of an expensive place, especially for a student like me, but this is one great place to hang out and have great drinks. You can meet all kinds of people here, not just students, and mingle around. Everyone is friendly, but to play pool you gotta pay extra. Not as nice as the joints I frequent in Reno, but it's decent here.

GREAT CHILL ATMOSPHERE, SPECIALS ON DRINKS, POOL IS 10 BUCKS AN HOUR THOUGH – The first time i went i did'nt even know it was there it has no sign out side its location. it has a nice aqua under water theme This place is more for college students but Is mixed with all walks of life (afterall this is berkeley) I went one Sunday and suprisingly it was crowded. It's nice to have a bar where you can do something other than drink. Decent amount of seating but it's usually tough to find a seat on the weekend. It has a small patio where you can hang out and smoke. The bar is usually crowded though, so it'll take awhile to get a drink. The sidewalk out front is usually pretty gross.

Bar and Billards – The first time I went to Thalassa, it was okay. We got a few beers and played some pool. I thought it would be fun to go back. But the second time we went, I couldn't believe what happened. The bartender was beyond rude to us, demanding i.d.s, and litterally chasing us around the bar (we had things we wanted to set down before ordering at the bar) When I presented her with my passport, she was unable to find my birthday on it (!) and asked for alternate identification. Nicely decorated Thallasa is one of the better decorated pool halls in the bay area. They have two main areas, one the main entrance with a few tables in the front by the window, a juke box, a lounge area, video games, and a full bar. The other area is just a bunch of pool tables. Service is pretty good here and they have descent prices.
