spice I really enjoyed Thalia. I heard about it from friends who said the food was terriffic, and there were right. There were so many great flavors. I loved everyone. We had the mango seared scallops -- the salsa was made of fresh mango and advocado. Everything was so fresh. Portions and prices are on the smaller side letting you try many things on the menu.

Great after Theater find on Green street and Chicago Ave – We had a great after theater dinner at Thalia. The services was very attentive and friendly. The selection was outstanding, so we ended up having a number of appetizers so we could all sample everything. A couple of the favorites were the Seared Tuna, Ya Ya Noodles and Satay. The ambience is contempory with a intimate coziness.

Pleasant surprise! I came across this place by accident with a few friends and was pleasantly surprise by its lofty 'zen' like interiors with multiple romntic rooms and festive atmoshpere. Was even more surprise by its delicious and very fresh sushi/maki. Very authentic curry dishes, chef roast duck is to die for. Definitey be back for more.

Wonderful! Mango Seared Scallops to die for.... – I really enjoyed Thalia. Service was very good; although servers are mostly asian. One of the owners even came by and gave us his suggestions. Glad w... read more

Business response:

Thalia Spice was granted their Liquor License in June'08 and are not BYOB any longer. They have a wonderful drink menu with very reasonable wines starting at $19 per bottle. They have some lovely specialty drinks such as their unique "Siamtini" , "One Night in Bangkok" , and Thai-gria. Drink Specals: Wednesday $5 Wine by the Glass, Thursday $5 Martinis.

The most arrogant ownership ever - do not eat there!!! – The worst place to eat. Owners can easily ruin your dinner completely! You can be kicked out of your table because other people are waiting - with no apology whatsoever - horrible attitude towards customers treated strictly as a source of income, only!!! No manners, no class, no style. Definitely overrated food and service. It was a huge disappointment and total social disaster ? my friends were devastated. It is a disgrace that owners like them are concentrating only ... read more

Thalia Surprise – I've heard and read alot about this place, and finally got my chance to go with a group of friends this weekend. They were packed (I had no idea how small a place it was), but we only had to wait about 10 minutes for our table for 8 It was this cool lounge area overlooking the dining room - felt like a real VIP up there. LOL. The staff did a good job, but they were certainly busy running around. The manager/owner kept coming around checking on us and filling in for the server. Nice touch. Now for what is re... read more

The Best Thai Food in Town – I went there with my friends last weeks. We called and asked for reservation about an hour ahead. When we got there, the place was crowded. I thought we might have to wait for a while on the other hand we got the seats right away not only that but also it was the romantic private room. We got very lucky for that. We ordered several different dishes and never had in other Thai restaurants around town: banana blossom salad, fish & apple salad, mango scallops, avocado tuna, lettuce wrap, volcano sou... read more

Thai, Vietnamese and Malaysian flavors merge in this nature-themed BYOB in Wicker Park. – In Short Taking its name from the Thai word for "ocean," this tucked away eatery keeps a nature-inspired theme throughout its U-shaped dining area. Vine-framed mirrors, tree-branch sconces and leaf-embroidered cloth lanterns crate an intimate atmosphere in back where an elevated lounge provides a more secluded dining experience. Favorites like Banana Blossom Salad, Thai Aroma Tilapia and an Indian Chicken Makhani served in a curry cream... read more
