Textures is a great salon that I am proud to go to for my hair care needs. Makayla has been my stylist from the start of my hair journey. When my hair was damaged and i was holding on, she encouraged me to start fresh! I went from a see thru puff ball afro, to a hair that is on its way to touching my bra straps. When I started coming to get my hair done, Makayla noticed my hair was breaking off. She treated that area of my hair and together we decided to cut it. That was the best decision ever and I love my color and the style of my hair. I continue to receive amazing comments about my hair. It’s healthy and flawless! I was scheduled for an appointment with Makayla Rowe. I went after being told by my sister that she was a great stylist. When I arrived 20 minutes early she never came over to introduce herself despite sitting 5 feet across from me without a client. She waited on me but her customer service skills, interpersonal skills and communication skills definitely need improvement. I will never go back to this salon.

I really wanted to love my experience at Textures, especially because I like supporting Black-owned businesses when I can and searched intently for a salon that is familiar with black hair care. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. I booked a simple wash, blow dry, and trim over the phone with Nia after being told the service would start at $120, with an additional charge only if more than three inches needed to be cut or if density/length were a problem.
