The Texas Jailhouse (AKA: Historic Anderson County Jail) was built in 1931 at 704 Ave A, Palestine, Texas. It replaced the aging 1800's jail built at this same location. Today, this historic art deco inspired Texas Jailhouse has been re-opened with a new mission to become a fun, creative, cool event space that helps preserve and share Palestine's fascinating East Texas history!

I absolutely loved this place.
We did an overnight paranormal investigation and had a great time! The hosts, Jeremy and Sonia, were amazing and so accommodating. I would definitely recommend this location for ghost hunting and a little bit of Texas history.
The visitor center highly recommends this place. Coming from Montana, I've seen how historical buildings are often demolished for new construction. The locals longed for development, and when it finally arrived, many people moved in, but it came at the cost of our history—especially with Yellowstone being filmed, which led to even more destructive changes. 😕 Please, 🙏 don’t let this happen to your community. Encourage people to build and utilize what's ✨️ already there. It’s so beautiful! 😍
