This emergency department treats patients like they're a burden, especially if they assume you're on Medicaid or low income. I’m Hispanic, but that doesn’t mean I’m not paying out of pocket. I don’t even qualify for Medicaid. The level of disrespect and neglect here was one of the worst experiences of my life. I brought my child in with a fever that has lasted over 8 days.( We are now on day 9 of fever) We had already seen his PCP (twice) and urgent care, and his doctor recommended we go to the hospital. But once we got ther... read more

Unless your child is specifically sent to this hospital or transferred from a different one..do yourself a huge favor and stay close to home. UTMB/Methodist/HCA are great, too. Just do some research and read reviews. "Medical gaslighting" is disgusting. A Pediatrician in the ER got several things wrong today: This is not my first child. I am not stupid. I am not crazy. My baby is 1000% in pain. I have plenty of help, just none from you.

have been waiting for more than 4 hours and they haven’t even seen my BABY. I’m leaving before they try to make me do the full 8-10 hours. They call a patient every 2 hours. better off diagnosing yourself from WEBMD. do not go unless you plan to be free for 8 hours & change shifts with the nurses…

What happened to Patient’s Rights?? My family’s experience was horrible. After 9 hours, we were seen remotely by psych. We questioned the physician and expressed concerns for his plan. We requested another opinion, and the social worker came in stating that we were to leave AMA as we’re not following doctor orders and he would turn us in to CPS. Which they did!
