Beautiful experience from start to finish. Small and very quiet, it has an intimate atmosphere that makes the meal feel special. The service was impeccable and the food was eloquently prepared, fresh, and thoughtfully presented.
Finally a sushi restaurant in Vancouver that does not care for the frills and ostentation, Tetsu uses sheer ingredient quality and preparation to do all the talking. The ishidai and spot prawn was absolutely incredible! Thank you so much for the experience, chef Satoshi, especially for the mini sushi and Godzillas!
I celebrated my birthday at Tetsu and had a great evening. The staff were amazing, and the uni was my favorite. I can’t believe I can enjoy such high-quality food in Vancouver. Personally, I felt some of the sauces were a bit heavy and slightly masked the original flavors, but I still really enjoyed the experience.
Tetsu Sushi is an amazing omakase experience. The restaurant is very small and intimate. The chef and owner Satoshi Makise prepares each piece of sushi to be a piece of delicious, editable art. The service is pleasant, attentive and feels very Japanese. The pace of dinner is relaxed and unhurried. The omakase menu is extensive and every bite was a delicious adventure. It is certainly deserving of it's Michelin "recognized" status if not a star. It is not inexpensive but worth the cost for a really delicious, fun experience. ... read more
We booked the sushi bar so we can observe the chef preparing the dish. Overall an enjoyable dining experience. Service is quite good given the limited seating spaces. Food overall good. Nigiri is fresh. The bluefin tuna is okay. The uni, monkfish liver and needlefish nigiri are the best in the nigiri sushi menu. About two hours dining time for omakase.
