Property taxes are out of control in teton county Wyoming. The method of taxation is not fair and should be changed. Long time residents are being forced to sell their homes because they can’t afford the property taxes, especially retirees on fixed incomes.
CONSUMER BE AWARE OF FEES!! I went in to pay the taxes on my new vehicle as well as register my vehicle. The process for the taxes and registration was straightforward; my frustration is the fee charged to use a credit card...which is 2.5% of the charged amount(theft to consumer and someone is getting a kickback). This fee was NOT communicated and the fees differ from the title office which is a flat fee and communicated at the window.
