Gone are the days of large slices of sausage and chunks of turkey. I used to live by this restaurant and couldn't get enough, now it's "not bad" it's just middle of the road.
If you like delicious, home-cooked meals in a peaceful no-frills setting, then this is your place. Tessie’s never disappoints.
Good classic New Orleans comfort food at a 1950s styled restaurant. Great soups like Turkey Gumbo, split pea and vegetables. Italian dishes and seafood are very good. Poboys and most other traditional New Orleans dishes.
Hamburger steak was excellent. Love the feel of this place, small and homely. Which are two things that lead to good food.
