I brought my car in for light suspension work (less than an hour) and specifically asked that the lug nuts be torqued back to the manufacturer’s factory specs. Instead, the mechanic used an impact airgun to tighten them far beyond spec. When I checked after they released my car, the lug nuts were so over-torqued that I needed a breaker bar just to get them off.
