We went tonight for a family birthday party. The service was slow. Since it took so long we decided to have our birthday cake at the restaurant. We asked for [plates & forks for the cake .The waitress came up &" offered" to cut the cake. When we received the bill they charged us $11 for serving the cake. It was never told to us that there would be a charge If they has told us we would not of had the cake there. Rip Off and Horrible Service – I decided to try Terra since it was in my entertainment book for a discount. As soon as we arrived at the restaurant, the host was very rude and obnoxious. Second, the food was not impressive and it was rather salty. Third, since I used my entertainment coupon, they attached an 18% gratuity charge to the bill, which I told them, defeated the purpose of the card in the first place. Disappointing – After reading other positive reviews of this restaurant, we decided to try it. We were looking for somewhere with good food, a nice atmosphere, and a decent wine list...somewhere we could have a romantic date to decompress. Well, we were disappointed. I ordered the rotisserie chicken for my entree and it was the driest chicken I've ever eaten. And that's saying something. Rotisserie chicken from any grocery store is better. Bad service and overpriced – Terra is a so-so restaurant with really bad service. A lot of Albuquerque restaurants have problems of disorganization, ill-informed waitstaff and general slowness, but at Terra, staff and management are indifferent and rude. The food wouldn't be worth the price even with good service. With the existing terrible service, it's a "must miss".
Good food, bad service – Albuquerque fine dining restaurants are few but a growing trend. For Terra American Bistro, the food tastes good, but so is the food at ALOT of Albuquerque restaurants where you pay signifigantly less. If you are looking for somewhere special to go, keep looking, the lack of customer service here while ruin your occasion. This restaurant has a lot of work to do to measure up with Albuquerque's finest dining experiences.
