We love this restaurant! In the summers we like to ride from Carbondale to Basalt and sit outside in Tempranillo’s pretty yard. They also have a lovely, big porch. Service is excellent, and the food is, too. Winters are nice inside the cozy dining room.
Awful restaurant. You’re eating cheap ingredients from Sysco that’s not even cooked well and paying a premium. They have “pan” (which means bread in Spanish) on their menu for $9…it’s a disgusting loaf from Sysco. This is literally the worst restaurant in Basalt. It’s like walking into a tourist trap in Spain. Nothing authentic - all cheap and made to sell to Americans that don’t know any better. I wish the owners would sell their business and leave town.
The food here was subpar, honestly even the simple desert chocolate creme brûlée sucked.Quite frankly it tased like drippy jiffy chocolate pudding out of the box mixed with water and a faint crisp on the top. The night before we had chocolate creme brûlée at the Rivera in Glenwood Springs and it was 10 X better. Perhaps the closer you get to Aspen the pricey food gets worse
We sat outside on their patio. Overall the experience was nice, but I don’t think it was worth the price. The service was wonderful, attentive and kind and just the right amount of attention vs leaving us alone. We ordered the Tempranillo salad to start, the seafood paella, red snapper, and 4 tapas dishes all to share between 4 adults. 1 child pasta and a mushroom pappardelle for my teen.
