Ted Carter and his team provide Inspired Landscape design and installation in southern Maine, coastal New Hampshire, North Shore of Massachusetts, and elsewhere by request. Our aim is to create a landscape that not only fits the existing environment, but looks as though it has always been there...one that is both attractive and functional. We work closely and collaboratively with our clients to ensure their wishes and needs are listened to and interpreted correctly. We look forward to hearing from you.

We hired Ted Carter Inspired Landscapes to do a combination of plantings, landscaping and stonework. Their efforts were thorough and creative. The initial plotting and layout were exact and detailed. The stonework steps (front and back) are beautiful, as is the patio. The stonework is a lovely combination of cut stone and brick. The staff were consistently friendly, flexible and informative. In 2024, we engaged the Ted Carter team for a complete backyard renovation. It included the addition of a large stone patio, several stone stairways, and extensive perennial beds using native species. We were simply delighted with the work from start to finish. From the planning exercises to developing and sticking to a budget and, finally, the installation, the team at Ted Carter was top-notch in every way. They are true experts in the field and we look forward to using them again in the future.
Highly recommended. We completed (summer 2024) a substantial, transformative and highly successful landscaping project with TCIL. It was a tricky project, a nearly complete overhaul of a matured, multi-generational landscape on a small footprint along the shore of Sebago Lake, Maine. This is long overdue. Three years ago, we underwent a complete front yard makeover with Ted Carter and his crew, installing granite and stone walkways, a stone wall and a large selection of bushes, trees and flowers which have completely transformed the appearance of our home.
