Students pay for the ability to use the tech hub yet they differ to other stores unless it’s to replace a 300 dollar part and are only willing to do exactly what Dell (sponsor) tells them to do. Simple fixes and use of tools not allowed. I had a simple issue of an arc from the motherboard to the case. This would easily be fixed with a piece of electrical tape where the arc is occurring. I previously bought a MacBook Pro from this store using a student discount. I assumed it would be the same quality as the ones sold at the regular Apple Store, but it turns out the laptop overheats very easily. When it gets hot, it slows down and doesn’t operate normally. During the summer, it has even shut down on its own when the temperature gets too high. Based on this experience, I’m starting to think the discounted Macs may not be the same quality as those from the official Apple Store.
