Overpriced pasta. Don't get me wrong, food is delicious and has a nice presentation, but more than 30 bucks for a meager pasta dish is on the high end. Especially since the restaurant has a 20% service charge on top of that (which is not disclosed until the check comes in). So, 85 bucks for two small portion pasta dishes. It is known that pasta is the one type of dish with the highest margins for restaurants, but this was a little too much for me.
Im writing a review since this is my second terrible experience at Tavolata. The first one was last year and the food was dry and tasteless but I thought that may have been a bad night so have it another chance. Dry pasta, bland fish - I can’t even call it average. And our bill was $500 for food that was worse that what we throw together at home with store bought pasta and sauces. Even the Tiramisu was dry!! The pizza was decent as was the burrata dish.
