I ate there for the first time and only time a few weeks ago. I went with my family and the food was hands down the worst I have had. The ribs were dry tough, the fries tasted as if they had been under a warmer and not dropped fresh. Everything was under seasoned. The ONLY tasty thing was the coleslaw. I bought two groupons and was using one of them. Now think I will just trash the next one and loose my money

My first experience at The Tavern of Solon will be my last. As my wife and I enter into the restaurant there was a strong disinfectant smell that was off putting. Getting past that we sat down at a table and our server Christin came over to get drink orders. She was very pleasant to work with. I ordered ice tea and after taking a sip I had to return it because it tasted rancid. Not sure if it was the lemon or the tea but I switched to water. Christin was helpful replaced the tea (credited my bill) and took our order. I order... read more

I was a huge fan of fat casual BBQ. I can't say the same for the tavern . When I go out to get BBQ I don't want a skimpy weight watchers sized portion, and that is what you will get here . Want a pulled pork sandwich ? Not Here. Its on the menu , but what they actually serve you is a chopped pork sandwich . I asked the waiter and she said that's the way they do it here . then someone else came by , and he insisted that every restaurant that has pulled pork actually chops it up . Went to the Tavern when it first opened. Service was awful, food was bad and the owner was hanging out with his friends at the bar. Decided to try and give it another shot. After an hour and a half still no food. Pointed it out to our server many times even though others were getting their food even though they came in long after us. Owner was sitting at the bar drinking. I asked her to tell the owner and have him come talk to us. She told him and he went into the kitchen and did not talk to us.
